Greg Donson will be sworn in as a member of the Valley View Board of Education during its July 13 meeting. Donson, who was one of seven community members to submit an application, was appointed by the Board to fill the spot vacated by former Board president Tim Rudd.

June 8 Board of Education meeting

The Board held a special meeting June 29 attended initially by Tyson Dillon, Joe Scholler and new Board president Stephanie Smith. After a brief public meeting where the three Board members voted on financial updates, Board member Chevella Griffith arrived and they moved to executive session to interview the candidates.

Of the seven initial candidates, the Board selected four to interview, including Adam Kelhoffer, Tim Hewitt, Susan Bowman and Greg Donson.

Prior to the Board meeting, departing Board member Tim Rudd used a Facebook post to endorse Norman, “I don’t get a vote, but if I did it would be hard to convince me that anyone would be better for this position than Bill Norman.” He edited the post later to note that some of the other candidates would also be great and then added, “And I’m sure at least one would not.”
