Eight community members have applied to replace Tim Rudd on the Valley View Board of Education. See School Board Vacancy Updates
Through a public records request, the TWIN CREEK TIMES has exclusive access to the list of candidates and their applications. Applicants include:
Susan Bowman of Germantown has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s in Education, and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling.
Josh Davis of Germantown works in auto sales, has volunteered for youth sports and is an active participant in the Spartan Guardian program at the elementary school.
Greg Donson of Farmersville is a retired CEO and executive at Mound Laboratories. He is currently serving as Chairman of the Trustees for the First Church of God and is an active member of the Germantown Rotary Club.
Tim Hewitt of Germantown is a previous board candidate. He is a farm owner and has worked 25 years at a neighboring school district.
Adam Kelhoffer of Farmersville is a volunteer with the Valley View marching band and is an assistant softball coach at Dixie High School. He is a fire alarm maintenance technician at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Jeffrey King of Germantown has served as a School Resource Officer and School Safety Officer at Valley View. He currently works as a Police Major with the Oxford Township Police Department and as a Detective with the Germantown Police Department.
Bill Norman of Germantown is the Special Education Director at Tri-County North and previously worked at Valley View as an Intervention Specialist. He is pursuing a Doctorate in Special Education and Curriculum at Liberty University.
Board Timeline
Valley View announced they will hold a special board meeting June 29 to conduct interviews with candidates and vote at that meeting. It is expected that this meeting will largely happen in executive session.
The school also announced that the new board member will be sworn in at the July 13 meeting, a month earlier than initially planned.
The new board member added in July will serve until December 31, 2027. Valley View will hold an election in November 2027 for a candidate to fill the rest of Rudd’s term, which is set to expire December 31, 2029.
