The Independent Order of Odd Fellows Germantown Friendship #21 has a 78-year history in Germantown.
The Odd Fellows were originally a service club in England, where it was “odd” to find people “organized for the purpose of giving aid to those in need.”
The local organization has two lodges in town, one at the corner of Market and Main and a newer one in the former Methodist Church on Market Street.

The IOOF in Germantown has 35 members.
How to Join
According to the national IOOF, a man or woman of good character, who is loyal to his or her country and believes in a Supreme Being, the creator and preserver of the Universe, is eligible for membership. Odd Fellowship strictly forbids any interference with one's religious beliefs or political opinions.

Community Impact
The Odd Fellows have provided support to the Germantown Library and Valley View by purchasing computers. They also sponsor and present the National Honor Society pins each year.
The IOOF also helps families in need, funding their charitable works with the house and apartments they own and rent.

The IOOF in Germantown meets the first and third Monday of the month for a dinner and meeting. New members are welcome.
