Germantown First Church of God is celebrating 100 years on Sunday, Sept. 20.

The congregation is hosting worship at 10 am, lunch at the church at 11:45 and a celebration service at 2 pm.

The church is led by senior pastor Brandon Holbrook and pastoral care & missions pastor Ruby Harp.

The church, located at 760 Farmersville-Germantown Pike, has been a fixture of the community, hosting Valley View baccalaureates, community choir concerts and other events. The church also serves as the main supporter and host of the Sonshine in a Bag program. See Student Food Support Program Receives Donation from Area Churches

The congregation met on Market Street for many years and then moved to its current location, with multiple additions in the 1980s.
