Valley View will celebrate its annual Homecoming events with traditions like the parade in Germantown, Friday night football game and a student dance. The parade will be Thursday, Oct. 8 followed by a community pep rally at Niswonger Field.

Valley View varsity football will play its Homecoming game against Edgewood on Friday, Oct. 9 at 7 pm.

Homecoming Parade
The parade will start at 6:30 Thursday, Oct. 8. The parade route starts at Niswonger Field > North Main St. > Market St. > Plum St. > Comstock St. > back to Niswonger Field. (Note: Route and parking lots will be closed during the parade.)

The 2026 Homecoming theme is “Sapphire Seas.” Float Themes: Seniors (Jaws), Juniors (Finding Nemo), Sophomores (Titanic), Freshmen (The Little Mermaid), Coffee Shop (Sharknado).

Parade grand marshals are Paul & Dorris Hensley. Paul, an NCR retiree, is the former owner of the Downtowner Restaurant (now Alleyway Cafe). Dorris is a former West Carrollton teacher and worked for the Germantown Press. Both are active in the Germantown Historical Society, the Twin Creek Garden Club, the Germantown Senior Center and Mah-Jongg League.

The parade will include high school, junior high and pee-wee fall sports and cheerleaders. Queen and King candidates and attendants will also be included. The 2025 Homecoming Queen Rivers Lemke will participate, along with flower girl Molly Howard and crown bearers Asher and Isaac King.

The Thursday Community Pep Rally will be held immediately after the parade at Niswonger Field. The event will feature fall sports teams, the VVHS marching band, and team competitions. Parking is available only on the grass behind the home stands.

The 2026 Homecoming King & Queen will be crowned at halftime of Friday’s game.

The Homecoming dance for students will be Saturday, Oct. 10, 7-10 pm.
