The first day of school for most Valley View students is Tuesday, August 18, with open houses at the school and the Spartan Library Branch on Monday. Teachers are busy prepping their rooms and will report August 13.
Schedule
August 18 is the first day for students in grades 1-9. Sophomores, juniors and seniors report August 19.
Kindergartners have a rolling start, with students last names A-L starting August 21 and students M-Z starting August 24. All Kindergartners will attend class August 25.
Valley View has posted the full 2026-2027 academic calendar.
There will be no school Monday, September 7, for Labor Day, and classes will start on a two-hour delay Tuesday, September 8. After September, the District will have two-hour delays for Professional Development on the first Monday of each month.
Open House
The District will host open house events for elementary, middle school and high school on Monday, August 17.
The elementary open house will be 5-6 pm. Parents of incoming preschoolers will be contacted directly.

Sixth grade will have a parent meeting at 5 pm in the Middle School Gym, with open house and schedule pick-up to follow until 6 pm.
7th/8th grade open house will be 5-6 pm, with schedule pick-up in the gym.
The high school open house will be 5:30-6:30 pm.
Spartan Branch Library Open House
The Germantown Public Library is inviting the community to visit the Spartan Branch Library on Monday, August 17, 5-6:30 pm. The new library space is dedicated exclusively to serving Valley View students within the Valley View Admin Building (the old high school).
