Former Valley View teacher and coach Bob Skidmore retired from the Valley View Board of Education in December at the end of his term.

Skidmore was elected to the school board in November 2021, running unopposed on a ticket with Tim Rudd and Stephanie Smith.

Prior to running for the board spot, Skidmore resigned from his position as head football coach and retired from teaching.

Skidmore will be replaced on the board by former superintendent Joe Scholler, who will begin a term that expires in December 2029. Rudd and Smith were also elected in November for four-year terms. All three ran unopposed.

Board members Tyson Dillon and Chevella Griffith are in the middle of terms that expire in December 2027.
