Family and friends of Valley View graduate Taylor Martin are hosting a memorial volleyball tournament September 19 in Farmersville to raise funds for nonprofit Tay’s Village.

According to Tay’s Village, all proceeds from the volleyball tournament will help support its mission of providing comfort and encouragement to individuals and families facing cystic fibrosis.

Taylor “Tay” Martin died in January 2026 after a battle with the disease. She graduated from Valley View in 2016.

This is the first volleyball tournament fundraiser for Tay’s Village. Check-in for the September 19 event is 10:30 am and the tournament begins at 11.

Teams are $25 per player. The deadline to register a team is September 1.

The event will take place at the sand volleyball courts in Farmersville at the Farmersville/Jackson Township Joint Park.

“Taylor had a way of making people feel seen, loved, and understood even while fighting battles of her own. Tay’s Village is our way of keeping that spirit alive,” the nonprofit said on its Facebook page.
