Community members can safely dispose of medications that are no longer needed or are expired at a free drug take-back event by the Germantown Police Department.

The event is Saturday, Oct. 24, 10 am - 2 pm. To participate, visit Germantown City Hall on Plum Street and use the drive-thru line.

No liquids or needles can be accepted.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), expired drugs can experience altered chemical compositions, bacterial growth, and reduced or lost potency—such as sub-potent antibiotics failing to treat infections and leading to antibiotic resistance.
