The Germantown pool has removed its slide. Earlier statements from the City noted that an inspection was needed to add a new one. As of May 18, the pool did not have a slide.
[Updated statement from the City of Germantown]
“The previous water slides were torn down after the 2025 pool season, having outlived their expected use and operating for over 20 years. A new slide was selected by the Pool Board in Fall of 2025 with the expectiation being they would be installed well in advance of the 2026 season. From there, permits had to be applied for both locally and at the state level. Due to the type of pool and our filtration system, we had to apply for a variance as part of our application. This means there is no set deadline on the application being returned. So, all paperwork has been filed, but the pool must wait on the state’s approval of the application before construction can begin.
We are still optimistic that slides will be up during the 2026 season. We do not anticipate having to close the pool to do so, rather we would section off part of the area under construction. Further updates will be provided as they are available. We greatly appreciate all of the community members that visit the pool each summer and look forward to having you all swim with us soon!”

The communities came to an agreement at the beginning of the year to jointly staff the pools. The Farmersville/Jackson Township Family Aquatic Center and the Germantown Aquatic Center will be managed by Devin Stoutenborough, along with four assistant managers, and lifeguards and staff who will be able to work at both facilities.
