Representatives from the Valley View Ministerium, a coalition of churches from Farmersville and Germantown, presented a $1,000 donation to the Community Action Mission Program (CAMP) food pantry last week.
Pastor Jon Kibler of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and Pastor Kazy Hinds of Slifers Presbyterian presented the check to CAMP director Madison Allen.
Allen said the food pantry serves as many as 27 families per week and helped 866 families in 2025. CAMP provides staples and perishable items like meat and eggs to families from Farmersville, Germantown and New Lebanon. “We could not do this without support from the community,” Allen said.
The ministerium, which is made up of mostly Farmersville churches, has worked together for decades to host community holiday services and vacation Bible school. The group supports the annual community worship held annually in August at the firehouse.
For Holy Week and Easter, the Valley View Ministerium will host a Good Friday Prayer Walk on April 3 at 5 pm, starting at Farmersville United Methodist Church. The Farmersville Christian Church (formerly UCC) will host the community Easter sunrise service at 6:30 am on Sunday, April 5. All community members are welcome to attend these services, even if they are not affiliated with one of the member congregations.
