Locally, residents of German Township and Germantown will vote on a one-mill renewal levy for the Germantown Senior Center.

Voters in Jackson Township and Farmersville will vote on a 2-mill levy to fund the Farmersville/Jackson Township Joint Park.

Germantown Senior Center Levy
Germantown and German Township officials have placed a five-year one-mill renewal levy on the November 3 ballot. The Senior Center ballot issue is a continuation of the present one-mill levy and is not a new tax.

The Germantown Senior Center provides health, educational, and recreational programs that assist seniors in maintaining vital, independent lives as well as serves the community as an emergency shelter and polling location.

According to the Senior Center, there are a wide variety of activities for seniors, such as physical fitness activities, lunch activities, social activities, bus trips, crafts, open computer, and game activities.

The center also hosts health screenings, health fairs, craft fairs, music events, community events, free tax service, and informative seminars. The center has become a focal point for seniors and their families to find information concerning services available in Montgomery County.

Farmersville/Jackson Township Joint Park Levy
After months of consideration and debate about the future of the park, the Jackson Township Trustees in cooperation with the Village of Farmersville, have placed a 10-year 2-mill levy on the ballot.

The levy represents a tax increase of $70 per $100,000 of home value and will generate $275,842 annually. The potential increase of this tax will be partially offset as two other levies expire.

Over the past several years, the Township has created both a pool and park levy, which made budgeting difficult. The existing pool levy expires at the end of 2026. The existing park levy expires at the end of 2027. The new levy is designed to replace both levies.

After 2027, the new 2.0-mill levy will be the only levy funding the park and pool.

The Park Board has released preliminary plans for the next 10 years, which currently include keeping the pool open. Planned upgrades include:

  • Pickleball courts

  • Splash pad

  • Walking path upgrades

  • Disc golf

  • Pool improvements, including cabanas, shade umbrellas and more

After facing difficulties in 2024 and closing in 2025, the Farmersville pool opened in 2026. The Park Board reports more than 1,200 people visited the pool in just the first five days of July this year.
