Valley View senior Austin Johnson became the first Valley View baseball player to receive All Ohio First Team recognition since future MLB player Thomas Howard earned the recognition in 1983.

Johnson was named All Ohio Division IV First Team for baseball 2026 by the Ohio High
School Baseball Coaches Association. He is one of only four outfielders in the state to be honored with the First Team designation and of the 19 players named First Team, Johnson is one of only three players from the Southwestern Ohio Region to be named to the First Team and the only SWBL player to be named First Team in Division IV.

Johnson is a 4 year varsity letterman, 2x First Team and 1x Second Team All SWBL player and was SWBL Player of the Year runner up this season. He led the conference and league in hits, runs, and stolen bases.

This season, Johnson broke the career stolen base record and finishes his career with 99 hits. He was nominated as the Valley View Male Athlete of the Year for 2025-26 and was the Edward Jones Athlete of the Month for April 2026.
