Adam’s Hope, a Germantown nonprofit, is honoring the memory of a fallen Marine by sending care packages to troops around the world.
Marine Corporal Adam D. Jones was on his 5th deployment when he gave his life in Helmand Province, Afghanistan in 2011.
According to a Facebook page for Adam’s Hope: “Adam was very blessed to have a Mother that made it her mission that he should have everything he needed while on deployment. She always sent extra for the other Marines, and Adam always shared. Adam's Hope would be that every Marine/Soldier would have what they need.”

Jones, a 2000 Valley View graduate, was honored in September 2025 with a street sign at South Hillcrest Drive and East Market Street in Germantown. Jones grew up on South Hillcrest.

Operating with the theme of “Sending Hope.....Remembering the Sacrifice," Adam’s Hope continues to collect donations of care items for troops and financial donations.
Needed items include: ground coffee, creamer, coffee filters, powdered drink mixes, hot chocolate and beef jerky.
