America 250-Ohio, the official state commission responsible for spearheading Ohio’s celebrations around America’s semiquincentennial in 2026, has launched Ohio Goes to the Movies, an all-Ohio film series and statewide celebration of movies showcasing Ohioans and their contributions to America’s film industry and moviemaking.
Films will highlight Ohioans as actors, directors, writers, composers, as well as locations and topics, shown in cities and towns across the state.
The program includes more than 250 free movie events in all 88 counties through October 2026 as part of Ohio’s official commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary.
Film Shows Dayton’s Ties to the NFL
Visitors to Carillon Park may have heard about Dayton’s professional football team, the Dayton Triangles, who played at Triangle Park, near where the Boonshoft Museum is today.
Last week, as part of the Ohio Goes to the Movies program, the Packard Museum played host to a free viewing of the documentary, Triangle Park.

Triangle Park is a documentary film based on the first-ever NFL Football game written and directed by Daytonian Allen Farst. One of 14 original professional teams, the Dayton Triangles played on Sunday October 3rd, 1920. The game was played in front of 5,000 fans.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine was on hand with his family to view the film.

The car above is part of the collection of the Packard Museum and was featured in the film.
You can watch the Triangle Park documentary on YouTube.
