An expert on Dayton history is offering free downtown lunchtime walking tours that start at Courthouse Square.

Andrew Walsh of Dayton Vistas will share his knowledge of downtown Dayton’s history, architecture, and ongoing revitalization.

The guided walking tour will focus on the blocks immediately surrounding Courthouse Square and the Dayton Arcade. Attendees will see buildings connected to Dayton's commercial and industrial heyday; the impact of the Great Flood of 1913 and urban renewal; and also delve into current redevelopment projects reshaping the core of the city.

Tour dates include the following Wednesdays in August and September:

August 5
August 26
September 2 
September 16
September 23

All tours start at noon on Courthouse Square, 21 N Main St., Dayton.
