Following the retirement of Chief Dan Allred, Josh Forrer was promoted from lieutenant to be named the new chief of the Germantown Fire Department. Forrer was sworn in as the new fire chief on March 4 at Germantown City Hall.

"Josh represents the very best of fire service," said City Manager Judy Gilleland. "He has earned the respect of this department, city administration, and township officials. He is fully qualified and committed to lead the Germantown Fire Department into the future."

Alldred is retiring after 43 years of service, officially on April 1. The community is invited to his retirement party on Friday, March 20, 2-4pm at the fire station.
