Many of us have seen the work of Cosette Gunter-Stratton and not realized it. Until recently, she was a producer at WDTN TV, Channel 2. This means she was working off-camera, writing news stories, coordinating with reporters and anchors, and making decisions about what should be covered.
In January, she moved up to a larger market and now produces news for WCPO 9 News in Cincinnati.
While she was at Channel 2, Gunter-Stratton advocated for coverage of our community, including stories on the new K-12 school building, volunteer firefighter staffing issues in Farmersville, and Village dissolution concerns.

In college, she was editor-in-chief of The Miami Student and led her team to earn the 2023 Ohio Society of Professional Journalists Best College Newspaper Award. Gunter-Stratton is also a Miami University President's Distinguished Service Award recipient.

At Valley View, Gunter-Stratton spent all four years focused on the performing arts, including playing in the symphonic band and performing in musicals. She was Sophie in Mamma Mia her senior year, and enjoyed the band trip to Disney. She was also class president.
One of her fondest memories is participating in a lighthearted senior prank that involved “stealing” classroom hall passes and decorating each to match the teacher.
