Miami University’s Urban and Regional Planning Department is identifying opportunities and updates for Farmersville / Jackson Township Joint Recreation Park.
According to updates shared in the December Farmersville Village Council meeting, the group will provide a report in January to the Village of Farmersville and Jackson Township leaders.
The Village and Township are also looking into the future of the swimming pool. Small updates to the pool will have it ready to open this summer, Mayor Nick Lamb confirmed. While the Village and Township are also working to finalize an estimate for major pool renovations and installation of a splash pad.
The early estimate for the pool and splashpad project is $1.3-1.5 million. This will vary depending on what work the Village can do itself and what updates need to be done by outside contractors. The proposed splash pad would be located separately from the pool and provide a play area specifically designed for young children.
The Village and Township are planning to confer on the potential for a new levy to fund the project on the May 2026 ballot.
