Of the six members of Farmersville’s current Village Council, five have now been appointed in 2026. The Village swore in two new Council members at its February meeting, Jeff Morneault and Crystal Lohn. (December meeting shown in photo above.)
Lohn replaces Council member Kim Hadley, who did not run for re-election. Lohn’s term expires in 2026. Morneault replaces Tom Sears, who resigned at the end of the January meeting. His term expires in 2027.
Eric Craig, Brian Smith and Todd Cunningham were re-appointed to their seats in January after no candidates appeared on the November 2025 ballot. Their terms expire in 2026. Longtime member and Council president Joseph Holderman remains on the Council through 2027.
The lack of candidates on the ballot for Council has brought Farmersville in the crosshairs of a new state law that will require the Village to vote on potential dissolution after the 2030 U.S. Census. See: Farmersville Mayor Addresses Dissolution Vote
The Village is also currently seeking community input on a new logo.
