The Farmersville Village Council voted a six-month moratorium on discount box stores to address the potential of a Dollar General entering the Village.
Tony McKinney, owner of Complete Auto & Performance, who was in attendance at the meeting, said that he was considering selling his property at the corner of Elm and Center Streets in Farmersville to Dollar General.

He stated at the meeting that Dollar General was doing a traffic study, but that the sale wasn’t complete.
The Village Council said it will continue to consider the potential of a box store in the community through its planning and zoning processes.
