A cast and crew of 30 students produced a visually stunning and musically sound performance of the musical Anastasia last weekend.

The musical tells a fictional story based on the Russian Imperial family’s execution at the hands of Bolshevik revolutionaries in 1917. The plot is based on a long-held rumor that the family’s daughter Anastasia had survived.

Under the directorial debut of long-time choreographer Miranda Rousey, the production showed heart and spirit.

Senior Inara Arnett as Anya (Anastasia) traveled to Paris with con men sophomore Hendrix Graw as Vlad and senior Brady Samlick as Dmitry. Along the way, they escape the clutches of Russian official, Gleb, played by junior Michah Schaeff. And Anastasia is eventually reunited with the Russian dowager Empress in exile, senior Emma Kate Taylor.
