Sonshine in a Bag, a ministry of Germantown First Church of God, provides weekend food bags to 210 Valley View students during the school year.

Working with the School District to identify students in need, a team of volunteers delivers the food every other week. The bags are filled with food that students can open, warm and eat by themselves, if necessary.

The program, now in its 12th year, costs about $4,000 each month to purchase food.
