Ingredients
1 cup (two sticks) softened butter
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
½ cup white granulated sugar
5 large egg yolks
2 tsp vanilla extract
¾ tsp baking soda
¾ tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 ½ cups all purpose flour
2 cups chocolate chips (reserve some for topping the bars)
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 and prepare a 9×13 baking pan with non-stick spray and parchment paper
In a large bowl beat together the butter and sugars until fluffy. Beat in the egg yolks and vanilla
In a separate bowl combine the flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Add them to the sugar/butter mixture gradually and beat until mixed
Add the chocolate chips and mix with a spatula
Spoon the dough in to the pan and spread evenly. Add a few chocolate chips to the top
Allow the bars to cool and remove from the pan using the parchment. Cut into bars to serve
Store in an airtight container at room temperature
