The Village Flower Shop is simultaneously Germantown’s newest and one of its oldest businesses. Founded in 1974 by Roger Neargarder, the Village Flower Shop has moved across Main Street to a new location under new ownership.
Brooke Clark took over the flower business on August 15, the day of Neargarder’s retirement.
Now located at 40 N. Main Street, the Village Flower Shop still offers fresh flower arrangements, artificial flowers and a boutique of accessories and gifts for all occasions.
New owner Brooke Clark says the business has been given a “facelift." They now accept credit cards and during a recent visit, Clark helped educate callers that payment is expected up front.
The Flower Shop is currently in the back half of 40 N. Main Street. The Valley View Performing Arts pop-up Halloween costume shop is currently occupying the front half. (See Costume Rental Pop-up to Open) Clark says the Village Flower Shop will expand in the space in November.
Clark was raised in Miamisburg and spent years in the wedding industry before meeting Roger through a family member. She is planning a grand re-opening event in November.
Neargarder is staying around through the end of the year to help with the business transition and will help with big flower days in the future.
